Makeup Artist Spotlight: Yarisbeth

While scrolling through my IG timeline (@sincerely.yari) I came across this beautiful young woman who's makeup was absolutely beat! So naturally I went on her page, and the first thing I realized is that she was a fellow Panamanian. Obviously she was a makeup artist and I knew that I just had to chat with her, if you are an inspiring make up artists or would love to learn some tips and tricks, check out Yaris's interview below.

S.Y.-  How did you get started in makeup? How long have you been a makeup artist?

Yaris- It just happened. I didn't have any intention on picking up a brush and applying any makeup. It all started with the eyebrow thing. I always liked the way makeup artist on IG did their eyebrows. Ever since I made an ig last year that's when the makeup started. I've only been a makeup artist til recently. I got serious a little less than a year. I'm such a perfectionist and I love to make myself look good and others as well. I learned everything on my own.

S.Y.Where do you get your inspiration from? Who are some artists that have inspired you?

Yaris- I was inspired by my good friend Amra aka @amrezy on IG. She actually made me get serious with makeup. With skill, you can get anywhere. And I realized I had a lot of makeup skills. And I just went with it.

S.Y.What is it about your style of makeup that separates you from other artists?

Yaris- I love natural looking makeup. I like focusing on areas that need enhancement. For example, I have really small eyes. So I focus on making my eyes look bigger by applying lashes and nude eyeliner. I'm not really an eye shadow person. I could do it but I just love natural looks. Nothing too exaggerated or crazy. I have natural hair and I like my makeup to look natural too.

S.Y. What do love the most about makeup?

Yaris- I love contouring the most. It really changes your appearence.

S.Y.Did you always want to be a makeup artist?

Yaris- Nope. I did not have any intention in wanting to be a makeup artist. It just so happened when I realize I had the skill to apply makeup.

S.Y.What would be your top two beauty advice for women of color?

Yaris- 1. Tell yourself you're beautiful 2. Tell yourself you're  strong and you can be anything in this world.

S.Y.What are your must have makeup products?

Yaris- Anastasia Of Beverly Hills products
