Once upon a time I bought an ice cream maker and I just loved it loved it loved it.  Then, it went to live neatly tucked away in a cabinet all its own and…I forgot about it.  Then I stumbled across this.  Thank the Minty Chocolate gods for David Lebovitz!

The Marriage of Mint and Cream.

His recipe is wonderfully laid out which is no surprise.  Bear in mind, using fresh mint was fantastic but it is pretty herbalicious in flavor.  So, if you’re looking for a more Blue Bell kind of flavor you might want to run with peppermint extract.  The only variation I made was using whole chips instead of melting chocolate and making gorgeous scribbles.  Don’t get me wrong, I love a pretty chocolate scribble but I also love excessive amounts of crunchy chocolate so whole chips it was!
