SJ: The spirit of Newark

At tonight’s NAACP debate, Shavar said something very important: On May 13th, voters will decide what type of spirit they want in City Hall.

As a lifetime resident of Newark, I want a city hall that embodies our history and empowers our residents. I've lived in Newark my whole life, and like Shavar Jeffries I'm staying here in my city.

Come talk about Newark's future with me this Saturday: jeffriesformayor.com/spirit

I met Shavar’s grandmother in the 1960s when we worked together for the city of Newark fighting poverty. My daughter and Shavar's mother were friends in grammar school. As long as I can remember, Shavar's grandmother always spoke about Shavar's relationship with the City of Newark. Every one of Shavar’s goals was focused on contributing to the city that gave him everything.

I know his opponent and the family well, but Shavar is my choice.

I am committed to do everything I can between now and May 13th to elect Shavar Jeffries because our city deserves Shavar and his beautiful family in City Hall.

Join me this Saturday to phone bank with Shavar’s wife, Tenagne Jeffries.
