On the City Council, Anibal has sparked a major renewal in the North Ward, dramatically reducing crime, recruiting new business, and improving resident's quality of life.

As the head football coach of Weequahic High School, Logan was selected as the Star Ledger "Coach of the Year". As a decorated detective in the Newark Police Department, he was named "Police of the Month" in 2012 by the National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial Fund. Brian works every day to keep our South Ward families safe.

The senior pastor of Gods Deliverance Praise and Outreach Center, Andre is a dynamic community leader who has equipped residents with skills they need to be self-sufficient. Born and raised in Newark, he and his wife, former school board member Shanique Speight, have four school-aged children.

Born in Portugal, Amador has lived in Newark with his wife and children since 1966. From an early age, his parents instilled in him the value of hard work, honesty and commitment to his community. As a councilman representing the East Ward, he has continually fought to improve the quality of life of the residents of the community he represents.

Robert has dedicated his life to community service, serving as president of the West Ward Little League Baseball Program and officiating for Pop Warner and high school football games. A lifelong resident of Newark, Waters currently works as a pension fund supervisor for the city.

A former state Assemblyman, Wilfredo has long been an advocate for working families as the state Public Advocate and Public Defender. While in the legislature, he was able to get legislation passed that directly benefited the citizens of Newark.

As a Certified Public Accountant and a lawyer, Carlos has kept careful watch on how our taxpayer money is spent. A Councilman since 2006, Carlos has a distinguished track record of public service and community development. He owned a law firm in Newark for 15 years. He and his wife, Margarita Muñiz, have two children.

Born and raised in the city of Newark, Lynda has worked in Congress and City Hall to improve the quality life for all residents. She is a district leader and graduate of Newark Public Schools.
